The evolvement of the project team until eventually FSD were engaged directly by GoJ did present some challenges which, with a true round-table approach by all parties, was overcome.
The geography of the site, including the limited onsite space available was a serious challenge to the site teams this coupled with the restrictions during Covid created further challenges in mobilising and sustaining a workforce, both on the island and safely on site with other workers.
FSD were awarded the electrical elements of this upgrade, including (but not limited) to:
Also, to support the above services, FSD provided design development & support and project management / administration. This office support, when combined with the previous project on-site experience mean that FSD could truly work with all project stakeholders to expedite delivery of the scheme.

FSD’s experience in delivering capital projects proved invaluable to removing blockers to progress.
In programming the works into several phases, genuine round-table collaboration enabled cost savings (re-use of materials, existing site resource for elements such as cable pulling), and through weekly collaboration session program savings were also enjoyed by identifying and then exploiting opportunities.
FSD were thanked by the client for their contribution to the successful completion of the project after four years. It was described as a “rollercoaster of a job, with lots of ups and downs, but ultimately with a successful conclusion thanks to the efforts of everyone involved”.
