FSD were allocated an M&E contract associated with the Anglian Water storm scheme project, to increase works capacity. The storm tank pipework was particularly challenging as it followed the tank curve across difficult terrain, and it was necessary to ensure the pipe and flanges were aligned as close to the tank as possible.
Another challenge was the inclusion of temporary works design, not something FSD are routinely involved in.
This was a combined M&E package solution, including installing pumps, pipework, MCC and cabling associated with the installation of a new large storm tank. Electrical works included design and engineering, LV cable and glanding, containment, earthing, instrument installation, external lighting, trace heating, lightning protection study and commissioning. Mechanical works included free issue equipment installation, ferric and alkalinity dosing pipework, safety shower and eyebath, trace heating and lagging, and valve supply.

Fabrication and installation of the storm tank pipework went extremely well. FSD compiled a drone video of the completed site which the client was interested in using promotionally. For the temporary works, a specialist in temporary works design was employed to prove the ground conditions for the crane operations.
The client was very satisfied with FSD’s delivery of this project and how smoothly the installation had gone.
